Hello, I am so heartened to learn that so much is being done to save the Sarah Clayes Home. I have always known of my connection to the Towne family and hence the Nurse, Estey and Clayes families. My grandmother was a Towne. I would very much like to help in any capacity I could. Although I wouldn't be able to help all that much monetarily at this time I would certainly like to help and be kept in the loop so to speak. Thank you for your time. You have my email address. Regards, Sheila Zimmer

Any updates on plans for the house? Having a familial connection to Sarah Clayes, I am heart-broken each time I drive by...which is often.

Just to let everyone know, I was the right hand man to Harold Purington in building all of the soldiers. I know every inch of how they came to be the size and shape they are now. I helped to cut and mould and paint all of them. I also put them together and help set them up in the mall. Just so you all know, there were only 18 soldiers built first and the other 5 were built for our five ramps later. There is a picture of Harold and me in the news paper when we were building them. If I can be of any help to you feel free to contact me. I miss my soldiers and wish to have one back someday. I also helped to build the soldier that went into our fountain.

I was the assistant to Harold Purington who built the soldiers. I know every inch of how the soldiers were put together. I was also in the news paper with Harold when we were building them. For many years I have wanted to get one of my soldiers to display at my home, but have been unable to get anyone to give me one. As to know how I know so much about them, I can tell you to look on the soldiers and you will find eith a number of 1 to 18 or writing of a location of where we were to put them in our mall

Unfortunately, it didn't seem like they are planning that. Just the six regular-sized soldiers the town requested.

Congratulations on a great job well done As a worker at the old Sears located in down town Framingham the rumors abounded like wild fire. Who would go, who would stay, the store will close the store won't close. As it turned out a selected group from store personal was choosen to go to the new store. I was not one of them. However as it turned out, our OLD store constantly outdid, saleswise, the new store, thanks inpart to our regular longtime customers who stayed with us, bless them.
I was very disappointed in that I could not attend the S.W day at the center. However I am sending by mail, some photos that I took of the last days of S.W (and two others). They are yours to keep, hope you enjoy them.......al botti
