The chapel at Cushing General Hospital, named for Dr. Harvey Cushing, sits on about 100 acres between Dudley Road and Winter Street. It served as an Army hospital during World War II, a VA hospital in the 50s and thereafter as a state hospital. The chapel was saved, restored, and re-dedicated in May of 1999 for community use.
