Description Postcard, color drawing. "Framingham, mass. Home for the Aged' in white at bottom right. Pitcture shows two-toned building from across a street with trees in front. On back, "The hugh C. Leighton Co., Manufactureers, Portland, ME." in blue in left margin.

Built in 1821 as a tavern, the Home for the Aged was located just east of the First Baptist Church in Framingham Centre until 1950, when the Home moved to Vernon and Grove streets and is now the Vernon House. The building shown above and the wooden Centre fire station immediately to the left (partly visible) were moved in the early 1900s to allow for the widening of Worcestor Street.
