The Framingham History Center Presents:
New Year’s Eve at the Village Hall
New Year's Eve at the Village Hall 2007
Last year's New Year's Eve Party was a great success and a marvelous evening for all. Many guests remarked how much fun they had and they were so pleased that New Year's Eve had returned to the Village Hall!

The room looked lovely, decorated with balloons raised to the ceiling, trailing streamers that shimmered over the dance floor. Each table caught the soft light in the balloon stars which hovered over guests seated with their friends to bring in the New Year.
We had a wonderful menu of hot crostini, warm brie, crisp veggies and savory dip. The chicken dijonnaise was particularly nice as was the warm spinach and feta triangles. These were just a few of the offerings by our caterer. A cash bar was offered and Pellegrino was placed on each table for the guests. At midnight, we celebrated with a champagne toast.
In between the well wishes from patron to patron, the sounds of horns and noisemakers of all sorts, filled the hall. We danced and danced through five decades of music with our fantastic DJ, David O'Leary, who read the crowd's taste for the best music. Annie Murphy, the FHC's Executive Director, welcomed the crowd with a few warm words and then we read a short dedication to Miss Mackey. Miss Mackey taught ballroom dancing for decades at Village Hall. We remembered her fondly as many guests recalled attending classes with her years ago.

New Year's Eve Party 2008
Again this year, we wish to offer to you the opportunity to ring in the New Year at Village Hall. Bring your family, friends and neighbors and celebrate in this beautiful, historic building. We will offer a flavorful menu from Currier & Chives caterers.
Our theme this year is the Historical Society's 120th birthday and its name change to the Framingham History Center (FHC). Tickets are just $80 for members and $100 for non-members (this includes a discounted membership to the FHC). This event is a fundraiser, and proceeds will benefit Village Hall. The Hall needs continual maintenance and, although it is a town-owned building, funding for this is dependent upon rentals and fundraising managed by the Framingham History Center.

"Endow a Chair"
This year we are sponsoring an "Endow a Chair" program at the Village Hall. As many of you may already know, the chairs at Village Hall are not very comfortable. In order to compete with other banquet halls for rentals, we need new chairs. And so we come to you with an offer we believe is too good to resist! For only $25.00 you can endow a chair and have your name placed on a plaque that will hang in Village Hall for years to come as a tribute to you or whomever you choose.
Please consider purchasing a chair or two in your family's name. This is a great tribute to a grandparent or parent for the holidays, or a loved one's birthday, or even a for mother's or father's day. You will leave your mark on the Village Hall and be remembered as someone who helped preserve this wonderful, historic building for generations to come.
