Volunteer Your Skills

The Framingham History Center is always looking for volunteers. For more information, please call 508-626-9091 or send an email to jennifer@framinghamhistory.org

Greeters: We need volunteers to greet visitors to at the Edgell Memorial Library, Saturdays from 1-4pm. Minimal training necessary.

3rd Grade Docents: Volunteers needed during the month of May from 9am-12pm to cover an activity during the third grade field trips to the Framingham History Center. This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with excited young museum visitors as they learn more about their local history. Training required; contact laura@framinghamhistory.org for training schedule or more information.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Baking Committee — A committee of volunteers who love to bake and would like to lend their services for the Center’s monthly programs and events, which normally fall on Sunday afternoons.
  • Mailings — Volunteers will be called upon to help the FHC staff stuff envelopes for the membership mailings in March, the House Tour mailings in April, Annual Appeal in November, occasional postcard mailings, and other additional mailings.
  • General Resource File Digitization Project — The General Resource File is a collection of research materials of all Framingham topics A-Z. The goal of this project is to make this wealth of information accessible to all researchers through digitization. Under the direction of the FHC Curator, the volunteer will scan topical folders, read materials and build a searchable index. This is the perfect project for the budding researcher and/or a passionate Framingham resident.  The ideal volunteer hours are Wednesdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm.
