History in the Stitches: Framingham Fashion through the Centuries

As we prepare our new exhibition History in the Stitches: Framingham Fashion through the Centuries, we need volunteer docents. Come and join us for an in-depth tour of the exhibit led by our Curator, Stacen Goldman.  Learn about some fascinating women from Framingham’s past and what their clothing says about them and their times.
If you are interested in this tour and possibly becoming a docent, mark your calendars for this opportunity on October 26th at 1:00 p.m. at the Edgell Memorial Library.  We need help Wednesdays-Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and would ultimately like a commitment of once a month.
The exhibit will kick off on Thursday, October 27th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a special opening night celebration for members and donors-only, which we hope you will attend.
What do we expect of our docents?
When visitors arrive, you will ask that they sign our guest book and if they are not members pay the $5 admissions fee. Some visitors like to guide themselves through our exhibitions. Should they request your assistance, you will be there to help them interpret the display. Staff will always be on hand for any questions during the week and on Saturdays you will be paired with another experienced volunteer.
How do I sign up for the training?
Please email jennifer@framinghamhistory.org or call the office at 508-626-9091. Thank you for your interest in helping us with this exciting new exhibition!
